#GetCheffed is THE food event of the summer season, bringing together the very best of Gippsland in a very tasty immersive experience. Well, it will be. With your help. 

Here’s the downlow. On Sunday February 18, we plan to bring local food icons to the stage to battle it out for ultimate food supremacy. 

Along the way, we’ll be showcasing hero products from our very own backyard, letting you in on top secret cheffy skills (like magicians, only in aprons and without cutting people in half) and even giving local foodies the chance to put their famous (at the family bbq anyway) dishes up for judging.

#GetCheffed gives you the opportunity to move beyond the servery window into the hidden creative space of the chef. You can watch them create memorable dishes right before your eyes, with all of the smells, sounds and tastes that tv cannot offer. You won't just watch the moments unfold - you will be an integral part of them.

BUT. There is only one way that our delicious vision can be realised. And that’s where you come in. 

If you, like us, want Gippsland to put on the kind of event that you’d not only go to, but also SnapChat from and talk about for weeks to come, we need you to put your money where your mouth is.

This venture is for the community, by the community. It is not a money making venture, but a mission. We want to remind locals why they should be proud of our region, attract new people to Gippsland to discover all that it has to offer and begin to rewrite the narrative of the Latrobe Valley.

The typical strings attached to funding can limit your imagination, but through collective investment we get to set the agenda. By supporting this initiative you’re breaking a cycle of expectation that only outsiders know what’s best for us. By donating you are voting with your feet (or your wallet) on what matters to you.

We have big vision with lots of moving parts, but to give us the very best chance of creating something great for our community and our local food culture we’re starting small. If we reach our target we’ll have what we need to bring the event to you. But if we exceed it, we can deliver something really fantastic, adding things like outdoor markets, games, sideshow events and other great stuff.
